Since 2014, James has played bass guitar with Night Divine, a group that won a WAMI Award for Best Christian/Gospel Artist of the Year and performed at the inaugural Midwest Original Music Festival (MOMfest).
He is honored to have been invited to play bass on two full-length charity releases with The Rockin' Psalms music ministry: "Lockdown Live 2020" and the "Armed Forces" tribute album which was recorded live at a special event dedicated to honoring America's military. James served in the U.S. Army.
Some other great musicians that James has had the honor of playing alongside include:
As a hobby, James loves to learn the basslines for songs by the band God's Soldier. When he does, he uses The 2014 American Deluxe Fender Jazz bass as his main weapon. In the past, notable appearances include the studio version of "Rise" by Night Divine and on the "Lockdown Live 2020" album by The Rockin' Psalms.
The 2006 Fender P Bass was used on the "Armed Forces (live)" album by The Rockin' Psalms. It was also chosen by Mikey Howard of Gold Record Recording Artist 7eventh Time Down as the perfect sounding bass when he engineered the studio recording for One Stone Down's single "Welcome to Church."
The Axtra Tribulation Battlecat Bass is a unique instrument filled with mystery and no one is sure exactly how old it is, but it's obviously seen decades worth of gigs. This guitar is part of Good Ol' Uncle Dude's Personal Axtra collection, and only he knows if the rumors that it may even contain parts of a working time machine are true. He occasionally lets James borrow it for live events.
The Axtra Tribulation Battlecat Bass is a mysteriously unique instrument that was hand-crafted in the U.S.A. One summer night in Knoxville, James was going to see his friend Russ play at Market Square. Just before he entered the legendary Preservation Pub, Good Ol' Uncle Dude appeared, handed him this Axtra, and said, "You're going to need this tonight. But don't worry." It turned out the main bass player that night was unable to make it so the Tribulation Battlecat was blessed to take the stage behind the amazing voice of Ayca Yayman.
When Good Ol' Uncle Dude found out that James was jamming with Eddie Shipman, he was overjoyed since he is a huge fan of Eddie's music. As a result, James used The Axtra Tribulation Battlecat for a few songs.
James had the exciting opportunity to serve with Troy Stetina for a special Christmas Concert. Troy was also kind enough to help record and produce the song "Rise" for Night Divine.
Troy has given guitar lessons to thousands of people (including Mark Tremonti from the bands Creed and Alter Bridge). Here is a good shredding song as a fun example of his abilities. Troy was also kind enough to help record and produce the song "Rise" for Night Divine.
"Lockdown Live 2020" is the only Rockin' Psalms official release recorded by just a minimalistic three-piece band (drums, bass, guitar/vocals) due to capacity limitations during the COVID virus. You couldn't keep The Rockin' Psalms locked down!
The 2014 American Deluxe Fender Jazz bass was featured on the studio version of "Rise" by the WAMI Award Winning Artist Night Divine recorded at Troy Stetina's Artist Underground studio.
James played on a number of recordings with the band One Stone Down. This photo was taken during the recording of the single "Welcome to Church" at the studio of Mikey Howard from Gold Recording Artist 7eventh Time Down.
The Fender Precision Bass was personally chosen by Mikey Howard of Gold Record Recording Artist 7eventh Time Down as the perfect sounding bass when James recorded the bass guitar track for One Stone Down's single "Welcome to Church."

Proverbs 31: 26-31
She opens her mouth with wisdom,
and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.
She looks well to the ways of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children rise up and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
“Many women have done excellently,
but you surpass them all.”
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands,
and let her works praise her in the gates.
